Product Industrialisation Engineer 

Job description

As a product industrialisation engineer at Achilles Design you will bring good manufacturing practices into a multidisciplinary design team (electronics, software, mechanics) and ensure the manufacturability and testability aspects of the products.

You will manage projects from prototypes stage or pilot stage towards mass production, manage the bill of materials, CE certification, suppliers sourcing, define & control the quality processes as well as setting up production with our manufacturing partners. You will do this for consumer goods, industrial products and medical devices.

  • Lead the industrialisation stages of projects;
  • Manage the product development at the industrialisation stage, qualifications and release of the product;
  • Find and manage suppliers involved in the projects;
  • Set-up and manage pilot batch trials;
  • Work according to our ISO13485 quality process for medical devices and help improve the processes relevant to the industrialisation stage;
  • Manage and maintain the bill of material, product cost and project budget;
  • Make and/or update 2D drawings, assembly instructions, quality inspection reports and other production related documents;
  • Support engineers and designers towards easy to manufacture design solutions;
  • Manage & solve quality and production improvements during the industrialisation stage;
  • Manage testing and CE approval for final release;
  • Help our clients with defining the go-to-market strategy.

Your profile

Are you passionate about design and development, and are you up for a challenge? We would like to welcome you to our team if your profile fits the following requirements:

  • A degree in engineering or similar (mechanics, electronics, mechatronics, industrial engineering).
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in design transfer and manufacturing transfer projects.
  • Working with CAD/PDM systems to control and update 3D CAD & 2D files.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and a result driven approach.
  • Experience with FMEA, pFMEA, Lean Manufacturing & supplier management.
  • Dutch native speaker, working proficiency in English is required.
  • You can work independently and in a team.
  • Able to work on several projects in parallel.
  • Willing to travel on an irregular basis to suppliers & clients.

Nice to haves

  • Knowledge of French & German is an advantage.
  • Knowledge or experience with Quality Management Systems (ISO9001, ISO13485) and/or regulatory affairs is a bonus. You will work according to our ISO13485 quality management system for our medical device projects.
