Etap is a Belgian company that, currently, can draw from over 50 years of experience in the field of professional interior and safety lighting. The originally Antwerp company designs, produces, and sells fittings for lighting and also more specific emergency lighting.

For the design of the K1 emergency lighting K1, Etap appealed to Achilles Associates. The range consists of a series of very easily installable fittings with various assembly options and various light sources, so that the consumer can always opt for a design that best suits his needs.

One of the versions, for example, works with LED lighting. The light output of these types of lamps gradually dims, contrary to the classical lighting that goes out suddenly. The design has been provided with a gauge cell that warns the user when the illumination of the pictogram drops below the standard minimum level. Thanks to the long lifespan of LED lamps (they can last for 10 years!) and the simple replacement method, a K1 lamp represents an enormous saving on maintenance costs and the use of modern and environmentally-friendly technology.
