At the beginning of 2004 a group of passionate wine lovers started Vinventive nv, launching Qivino not long after. This gadget is a godsend for every wine enthusiast, because it guarantees the perfect storage of the wine in the opened bottle. In addition to this, managers in the hotel and catering industry, wine professionals and everyone who likes a glass now and then, will enjoy using Qivino.

By placing Qivino on an opened bottle of wine, the wine in the bottle is placed in a protective, low-oxygen atmosphere which avoids oxidation. The air in the bottle is replaced by means of an automated operation in the stopper with a mix of inert gasses extracted from the air.

The Qivino is the result of scientific and organoleptic research in close cooperation with Vinventive, The Chemistry Department of the K.U.Leuven, the Institute for the Promotion of Innovation by Science and Technology in Flanders, The Mechelen Chamber of Commerce and Achilles Associates.
