Apart from the Xeikon digital printing systems, Punch Graphix also develops, manufactures and distributes related mid- and high-end prepress CtP (Computer-to-Plate) machines under the name basysPrint. With this, Punch Graphix Prepress is the leading specialist in computer-to-plate solutions for the printing industry. Starting from a digital file, these machines produce plates for offset printing.

The latest generation CtP machines, the so-called UV-Setters, use UV-sensitive plates, which keep a close eye on the cost-benefit ratio. No only do these machines guarantee impeccable printing quality and extreme ease of use, their simple integration with existing infrastructure is to their advantage. In addition, Punch Graphix also made significant progress in software for digital prepress.

Basysprint entrusted the development of the casing for these revolutionary UV-setters to Achilles Associates. The series includes 6 different machines of varying capacity and size, which are constructed in a modular way. That way, the customer can start by purchasing an entry-level model and later migrate to a high-end machine.

In the briefing for the design, the stress was on the request to make a link to the design of the Xeikon machines. As a result, Achilles continued the modular concept both visually and functionally in the casing of each plate setter: the top of each machine was divided according to the different units, so the modular aspect is immediately clear. In addition, a similar shape and colour alphabet was used as with the Xeikon machines. By literally repeating some strong visual details, a uniform Punch Graphix look, without losing the identity of the basysPrint.
