Already in the early twenties a group of Japanese doctors launched a clinical thermometer for home use in answer to the great lack of medical material in Japan. Later those doctors established the company Terumo Company, which started more and more to extend and refine its activities and products. In the seventies a European branch found its home base in the Belgian Haasrode, where, on a daily basis, among other things, 1.5 million hypodermic syringes, 4.5 million needles and 1 million blood tubes roll off the conveyor.
TerumoEurope produces and exports a wide range of products which can be used in angiography and cardiology, in cardiovascular systems, transfusions, clinical test systems and patient monitoring.

The Terumo Tube Sealing Device, an appliance with which blood tubes can be divided into smaller segments and sealed, was baptised T-Seal II. Also for this the expertise of Achilles Associates was called upon for the design.
The result is a compact, light and silent appliance that was especially designed to simultaneously connect different units to each other. This means a considerable gain in time when a large amount of segments must be created! With this, the distance between the seals can be set exactly, so that all blood samples have the desired length.
T-Seal II contains various checking-components that can aid the user to follow-up the sealing process and have it run flawlessly. LED feedback around the sealing element, an error indicator, optical tube control,…. Moreover, the material of the casing is easy to clean in case some blood gets spilt on it.
